Are You Looking For Umrah Dua List? One of the most noble acts to do during Umrah is to supplicate. Prayers made during Umrah are approved by Allah, especially when done at holy locations like Mataf (place of tawaf), the Hajr e Aswad, the Maqam e Ibrahim, and between Safa and Marwa while performing Sa’i. Allah almighty loves it when we come to him to express our innermost thoughts and ask for his blessings, and he always listens closely to our prayers and requests. During Umrah, we often observe numerous pilgrims carrying pocket size booklets and chanting specific prayers for every lap of tawaf and sa’i. Despite what is commonly thought, there are no particular prayers linked to each cycle of these ceremonies. The prophet Muhammad (PBUH) made supplications at different times during Umrah, giving us examples to learn from. This compilation of supplications from the Quran and Sunnah is not comprehensive, you are free to make your own duas, including those for your loved ones, while performing Umrah. You do not have to pray only in Arabic. It is emphasised that understanding the significance of your prayers is more important than merely reciting them without thought. The prayers that the prophet Muhammad (PBUH) recited at various periods are listed below and can be recited during Umrah.

Dua for travelling

It is crucial to prepare spiritually before starting the Umrah journey by chanting a special dua that Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) taught for travellers. Which can also be recited when starting the Umrah pilgrimage. Before setting out of your house let us recite the following dua in order to remain in the safe folds of Allah, be guided by wisdom and get Support on the Journey.

Bismillah, tawakkaltu ‘alallah, wa la hawla wa la quwwata illa billah.

Translation: “I begin with the name of Allah, I trust in Allah, there is no altering of conditions but by the power of Allah.” Despite its wide reach, this prayer is particularly potent before a significant travel such as the Umrah, since it expresses the pilgrim's faith in Allah for direction, safety, and success. It includes the spiritual and practical elements of travelling, seeking a safe journey and the health of those staying home.

Translation: “Allah is the greatest. Allah is the greatest. Allah is the greatest. How perfect is the one who has given us control over this; we could not have done it by ourselves. Truly it is to our lord that we are returning.O Allah, we ask you for piety, taqwa and deeds which you will be pleased with on this journey of ours. O Allah, make this journey easy for us and let us cover its distance swiftly. O Allah, you are our companion on the journey and the one in whose care we leave our family. O Allah, I seek your protection from difficulties of the journey, from distressing scenes, and from an ill-fated outcome with my wealth and family.” Ibn Umar (RA) narrated, when the prophet Muhammad prepared to travel on his camel, he would praise Allah three times and recite a specific dua (written above). Upon returning, he would recite the same words and add to them, “We are those who return, those who repent, those who worship, and those who praise our lord.”

Dua upon arrival

As one arrives at Makkah for Umrah, it is recommended to offer a dua which is a token of gratitude and supplication in regard to that particular holy journey. Although there isn’t any particular dua that has been suggested and that is specific for individuals arriving in Makkah, the suggested supplication is simple and does ask for a shield from every possible harm. A’udzu bikalimatillahit-tammati min sharri ma khalaq. Translation: “I seek refuge in Allah’s perfect words from every evil (that has been created).”

Dua before entering ihram

Before entering in ihram state, it is suggested to recite: Tasbeeh: SubhanAllah (Glory be to God) Tahleel: La ilaha ill Allah (there is no god but god) Takbeer: Allahu Akbar (Allah is Most Great)

Dua making the intention for performing Umrah

An integral aspect of your Umrah experience is wearing an ihram. Offer two rakahs of the Sunnah prayer for ihram once you have entered the state of ihram. Next, express your intention to perform Umrah with the following phrase: Allahumma innee uridul umrah; fayassir haa li wa taqabbalahaa minnee. Translation: “o Allah! I intend to perform Umrah. Make it easy for me and accept it in your books.”

Talbiyah (intention to start worship) for Umrah

When we start our Umrah journey by entering ihram, we commence reciting the talbiyah. The talbiyah should be repeated frequently during our travels. It is advisable to read it in various situations like standing, sitting, walking, riding in a vehicle, lying down, in a state of minor or major impurity, or during menstruation. Umrah pilgrims are advised to cease reciting it right before starting the tawaf of Umrah. It is obligatory to state the talbiyah for a minimum of three or more repetitions. Since it is stated repeatedly, it is important to understand the essence in order to strengthen the relationship. It represents the core beliefs of believing in one god, surrendering, and having a strong spiritual bond with Allah. The talbiyah is: Labbayka Allahumma Labbayk. Labbayka La Sharika Laka Labbayk. Innal Hamda Wan-ni’mata laka Wal-mulk. La Sharika Lak. “At your service, Allah, at Your service. At Your service, You have no partner, at Your service. Truly all praise, favor and sovereignty are Yours. You have no partner.” Duas to recite during tawaf Tawaf involves moving in anti-clockwise circles around the Kaaba. A complete tawaf comprises seven circles, commencing and concluding at the black stone, hajr al Aswad. Stand yourself next to the black stone and say this prayer when the tawaf starts. Bismillahi wA-llahu Akbar

“I begin in the name of Allah, Allah is the greatest.”

Whenever you reach the yamani corner to the black stone, recite: Rabbanaa aatinaa fiddunya hasanah wa fil akhirati hasanah wa qinaa azaab annaar. “Our lord, give us goodness in this world, and goodness in the Hereafter, and save us from the torment of the fire!”

Dua when seeing the Kaaba

Seeing the Kaaba for the very first time is described as one of the most powerful and touching moments by a wide range of pilgrims, who look forward to that moment, while a few of them do feel slightly intimidated. This period is the time for honest prayers because it is believed that any prayers typed out while viewing the Kaaba gets accepted. Here is a recommended prayer that reflects the significance of this moment: Allahumma zid hadha I-bayta tashrifan wa ta’dhiman wa takriman wa mahaba(tan), wa zid man sharrafahu wa karramahu mimman hajjahu awtamarahu tashrifan wa takriman wa ta’dhiman wa birra. “O Allah, increase this house in honour and esteem, reverence and awe, and increase the one who honours and ennobles it, of those who travel to for hajj or Umrah, in honour, esteem, reverence and piety.”

Duas for Sa’i

Sa’ee involves the dispensation of walking performed by the Umrah people where they walk seven times between two hills, safa, and Marwa. Saaf-hill is climbed for the first time, hence this verse from al-Quran can be chanted in this instance. Innassafaa wal marwata min sha’airillah, faman hajj al baeeta awi’tamara falaa junaaha a’laihi aiyattawwafa bihi maa, wa man tatawwa’a khairan fa innAllaha shaakirun a’leem. “Indeed, Safa and Marwa are among the symbols of Allah. So there is no sin on a person who walks along between them when making hajj to the house or performing Umrah. And Allah knows and appreciates him who does any good with a willing heart.”

Dua on top of mount Safa

Allahu Akbar, Allahu Akbar, Allahu Akbar. Allah is greater, Allah is greater, Allah is greater. La illAllahu wahdahu la shareekalahu, lahul mul ku wa lahul hamdu, wa huwa ala kulli shai’in qadeer. There is nothing worthy of worship except Allah alone; he has no partner; To him belongs dominion and all praise. He alone gives life and causes death, and he is All Powerful over everything. Laa ilaha illAllahu wahdahu anjaza wa’dahu, wa nasara ‘abdahu wa hadhamal ahzaaba wahdahu There is nothing worthy of worship except Allah alone. He has fulfilled his promise, and helped his servant, and he alone has defeated the confederates.”

Dua for leaving Al Haram

After concluding your optional prayer, making your supplication will be the last part of your journey before exiting the masjid al haram Bismil-lah wassalatu wassalamu ala Rasoolil-lah, allahumma innee as-aluka min fadlik.

“In the name of Allah, and prayers and peace be upon the Messenger of Allah. O Allah, I ask you form your favour.”
